i didn't realise until i read the allmusic bio, but thomas fehlmann was a contributor. if you haven't heard his stuff, i highly recommend visions of blah on kompakt. he's been a frequent orb collaborator, most notably on okie dokie it's the orb on kompakt. he was also involved with sun electric, though i don't know if he had much to do with the music. good stuff. now he's all old:
edit:
after reading his bio at his official site (flowing.de) it looks like he's the reason pomme fritz and orbus terrarum sound similar to ffwd. he was heavily involved with the recording of all three.

Thanks for the info. No, I've never heard Fehlmann before. I'll have to grab some of his stuff. And it's been ages since I listened to Orbus Terrarum. Is the track Slug Dub dubby in any way? Last time I heard it predates my exposure to proper dub.
And speaking further of FFWD, isn't the other collaborator from King Crimson? As a prog aficionado Jake, please enlighten me to their genius/suckiness. I'm too afraid to find out on my own.
weeeeeeeeeell...king crimson..
that's a tricky one.
fripp played guitar on here come the warm jets and colaborated with him on some ahead-of-its-time guitar stuff called no pussyfooting that's pretty slick..
as for king crimson themselves..if you dare, check out in the court of the crimson king . 21st century schizoid man is a pretty tough song, as is the title track (which you may recognise if you've seen children of men). you'll also dig the origins of the doves track m62 song, which is a reworking of the king crimson track 'moonchild.'
venture beyond that record at yr own peril..
