eugene jarecki on daily show

the 'why we fight' author has a new book about the danger of destroying what's left of our society from within by trying to protect it from all conceivable threats.

he reminds us that the "forces that decide whether or not we go to war" don't care who is in the White House -- a wake-up call I don't need until after Nov 4

anyway - good interview on dailyshow.com frontpage. anyone have the book yet?

does his book "why we fight" have anything to do with the documentary with the same title that's about the military industrial complex? if so, it should be a terrific read.

yeah, he's both the author and filmmaker as I recall

I guess it would have helped if I'd actually watched the interview. that was a solid episode all around; stewart really tore into palin for her "real americans live in small towns" bullshit.

stewart seems to have lost some of his vigor in general, lk maybe he's struggling with th constraints of doing a comedy show instead of a confrontational hard news deal. either that or he's lk th rest of it and has had his brain mushed by th last eight years..

stewart has good days and bad days -- last night's episode was dreadful, due to two-thirds of the it spent with john hodgson or whatever the fuck the PC/Mac turd's name is and that quack christopher buckley. not every show will be gold, but it is still pretty solid. the most truthful news on teevee.

p.s. my word verification to dousa -- do usa?
